I use the word quaint lightly. When I arrived on the tube on Sunday evening, I stepped out into the high street to be greeted by three police cars and one ambulance zooming past me. My senses immediately heightened by the flashing lights and loud noises I began to take in the rest of the area. All of the buildings are renovated very strangely and have 3D fixtures attached to the top of the building. (When I locate my wire I will upload a picture)
I was approached by three different men on the street, all of which were attempting to sell me flashing t-shirts which I poitely declined. I put my head down and began to walk as quickly as I could whilst carrying a suitcase, shoulder bag and my suit trying not to be stopped again.
It was only halfway down this road that I began to wonder about some of the places and people that I was in the middle of. My creative mind began to take over and I was trying to watch all of the hustling that was going on around me.
From my three minutes on Camden High Street, I got into my hotel room and began frantically scribbling notes. I had two brand new characters and a few ideas for wonderful settings that I would definitely be using in the future again. Thinking I had had quite a succesful evening in terms of inspiration I introduced myself to the gentleman that I was sharing a hotel room with for the week.
Little did I know that this man would very soon become my next character?
What strange characters have you come across that could definitely find a place in a novel?
